How we measured it

This report uses only TrainLiveStatus's own delay history for 22 to 28 October 2026, which is 7 distinct days. For each train we record the largest delay reported during that day's run. A train counts as on time on a day when that largest delay is within 15 minutes.

This is our own tracking, not an official Indian Railways statistic. The trains in scope run from New Delhi toward Patna and Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Rajgir, Howrah Junction, Malda Town and Islampur. Ten trains were in scope and nine are ranked. The window ends on the publishing day, so 28 October may be only partly recorded.

Days observed counts the days we have a record for each train. For some trains, including 04052, 14004, 12304 and 12274, the days observed are more than the days their run pattern gives in our database for this week. In our timetable 04052 runs on Tue, Fri and Sun, 14004 on Thu and Sun, 12304 on Wed, Thu, Sat and Sun, and 12274 on Tue and Sat, so these rows may include days when the train did not run as scheduled, or runs of another service. Read those rows with that in mind.

The most delayed trains on this corridor

Trains are ranked by their average largest daily delay. Across all nine ranked trains the average was 85 minutes, and 5% of train-days were on time. None of the nine recorded a cancelled day in this window.

What stands out

The 04052 Ndls-hwh Special is the outlier. Its average largest delay was 5 hours 17 minutes, and it was never within 15 minutes on any observed day. Its average recovery was 132 minutes per run, the most of the nine trains.

The 12392 Shramjivi Express ranks second, with an average of 1 hour 45 minutes and a worst day of 3 hours 37 minutes. It was observed on all seven days.

The 12310 RJPB Tejas Rajdhani had a median of 24 minutes, the lowest of the nine. Its average of 36 minutes is higher than that median, which means a few bad days pulled it up.

What this does not tell you

These figures show how late trains ran on our tracked days. They do not say why. We have no cause data for these days, so we do not give one.

A longer window can change the ranking. Our earlier report on this corridor, Delhi to Patna trains: delays this week, covers 30 September to 6 October, and the wider most delayed trains list for 19 to 25 October ranks the whole network.

What to do if you travel on these trains

  1. Look at the median and the worst day, not only the average. The average can be pulled up by a few very bad days, as with the 12310 RJPB Tejas Rajdhani, while the worst day shows how bad a late run can get.
  2. Check the train's live status the day before and again on the morning of travel.
  3. Look at alternatives in the trip planner if your train is more than a few hours late, especially for an overnight journey.
  4. Turn on delay alerts on the train page so you hear about a change without refreshing.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'on time' mean in this report?

A train counts as on time on a day when the largest delay reported during that day's run is within 15 minutes. The on-time figure is the share of observed train-days that met this rule.

Is this an official Indian Railways figure?

No. It comes from TrainLiveStatus's own tracking over 22 to 28 October 2026. For official performance figures, check the railway's published data. We do not publish any official statistic here.

Why do some trains have fewer observed days?

Our record counts the days we have data for each train. A train with fewer days may have had gaps in tracking, so its average is less certain than a train observed on all seven days.

Can I see the delay history for one of these trains?

Yes. Each train number in the table links to its own page, which shows live status and delay history for that train.
