In our delay tracking for 3 to 9 October 2026, the trains with the lowest average maximum delay were mostly Rajdhani, Duronto and Superfast services. The Tejas Rajdhani Express (22811) led with an average of 7 minutes, but we observed it on only three days. This report lists the 15 most punctual trains in the ranking and explains how the figures were worked out.
How we measured it
Each day, the delay we record for a train is the largest delay reported during that day's run, in minutes. A run counts as on time if that figure is within 15 minutes. Each train's average is taken over the days we observed it. The window covers seven distinct days, and 2,094 trains were in scope. 904 of them made the ranking. This is our own tracking, not an official railway statistic.
Across all 2,094 trains in scope, the average maximum delay was 93 minutes and 16% of runs were on time. The trains below are well ahead of that typical run.

| 15 | 22903 BHUJ AC SF Express | Bandra Terminus to Bhuj | 3 | 12 min | 67% | 18 min |

Many trains share the same 11-minute average, so the on-time rate and the worst day are useful tie-breakers. None of the 15 trains had a cancelled day in the window.

What the table tells you
- Short samples flatter some trains. The top two, 22811 and 12268, were observed on only three and five days. A few good days can move an average a long way.
- Longer records look steadier. The Navjeevan Express (12655) was observed on all seven days and was on time on 71% of them. It is a little behind on average delay, but its record rests on more runs.
- Worst days still matter. The Bandra Terminus to Hazrat Nizamuddin Superfast (12907) had the highest worst-day figure in the table at 21 minutes. The Tejas Rajdhani's worst day in the window was 7 minutes.
Caveats for reading a one-week sample
This is one week of data. Our earlier edition, the most punctual trains for 26 September to 2 October, covered a different window, so compare the two with care. The Superfast punctuality report for 1 to 7 October looks at the Superfast class as a whole.
The figures record reported delays only. We have not analysed the causes of any delay here, and a short run of good days does not show that a train is reliably on time. For a wider view of how a train behaves across seasons, read how to read a train's punctuality before you book.

Frequently asked questions
Which train was the most punctual in 3 to 9 October 2026?
The Tejas Rajdhani Express (22811, Bhubaneswar to New Delhi) had the lowest average maximum delay in our tracking, at 7 minutes. It was observed on only three days, so the sample is small.
How is punctuality measured on this page?
For each day, we record the largest delay reported during the train's run. A run is on time if that figure is within 15 minutes. The average is taken over the days we observed each train, and this is our own tracking, not an official statistic.
Does a low average delay mean a train will be on time?
No. The average describes what happened in the window we tracked. Delays vary by day, and the on-time rate and worst day for each train show how much a typical run can swing.
Where can I see the delay history for one of these trains?
Each train in the table links to its own page on TrainLiveStatus, which shows live status and delay history. Use the trip planner to check seat availability on your date.
