What we measured and how
This report uses only TrainLiveStatus's own delay tracking for the seven days from 12 to 18 October 2026. For each train we record the largest delay reported during that day's run. A train counts as on time on a day when that largest delay is within 15 minutes.
This is our own tracking, not an official Indian Railways statistic. Of 51 Rajdhani trains in scope, 34 were ranked. Across those 34 trains the average largest daily delay was 55 minutes, and 24% of observed runs were on time. The window ends on the publishing day, so that last day may be only partly recorded.
The 15 most delayed Rajdhani trains
Trains are ranked by their average largest daily delay, highest first. Eight of the 15 were on time on none of the days we observed them. The NZM Rajdhani (22221) had the highest average at 186 minutes, and our records show one cancelled day for it in this window.

Average and median tell different stories
A median far below the average means a few very late days pulled the average up. AK Tejas Rajdhani Express (12954) averaged 172 minutes but had a median of 23 minutes, and its worst day was 553 minutes. AK Tejas Rajdhani Express (12953) followed the same pattern, with a median of 19 minutes against an average of 145 minutes and a worst day of 611 minutes.

Where the average and median are close, such as the Dibrugarh Rajdhani (12423) at 86 and 79 minutes, the delays were more consistently large across the week.
What this means if you travel by Rajdhani
- Check the live status on the day. Each train page shows the current running status and recent delay history.
- Allow extra time for onward connections. Even a Rajdhani with a low median had days far beyond 15 minutes in this window.
- Compare alternatives. The trip planner shows other trains between the same stations, so you can compare options on your route.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Rajdhani ranking worked out?
For each train we record the largest delay reported during each day's run, then rank trains by the average of those daily figures. A day counts as on time when its largest delay is within 15 minutes. The median is shown beside the average so that one very bad day does not hide the typical run.
Is this an official Indian Railways figure?
No. It comes from TrainLiveStatus's own delay tracking, built from running status reports. Railway zones publish their own figures, which can differ from ours.
Why do the observed days not match a train's running days?
Our observed days come from the reports we collected in this window, so they do not always match the timetable. Check the running days on the train page before you travel.
Why does the NZM Rajdhani show a cancelled day?
Our records show one cancelled day for train 22221 among the six days observed in this window. Check the train page for its current status before you travel.
